Kilgetty AFC Women played their first home game last Sunday at 2pm against Milford Athletic Ladies.

The home team had a positive start against the established Milford team.

Kilgetty Keeper Heather Marie’s absolutely cracking penalty save sparked rapturous applause from home and away fans, it was seriously top draw!

“That penalty save was a great moment, I could hear the cheers and at the time had no idea I’d saved it utill I saw everyone cheering! A really great feeling, it really was!” Shared Heather.

Looking for extra strike power, at half time Kilgetty Captain, Lizzie Walsh, was switched from midfield to upfront, proving a successful move as she scored Kilgetty Women’s first ever goal, netting a further two to gain her hattrick.

Though the visitors took the points, the home team demonstrated a growth in confidence and hard work, which is building a firm foundation for the team’s future.
