Match report by Will Grey

Blood, guts and tenacity, what more can we say? A huge game this week against a team we Kilgetty have beaten several times before.  St Clears are a place above Kilgetty in the league and a win would result in Kilgetty possibly creeping up the table.

Kilgetty U13s ran the show in the first half and started to pass the ball around superbly with Dan Broomhall being at the centre of a lot of the positive attacking play. Dan’s performance rewarded him with a lovely goal lobbing the keeper from nearly 20 yards out. Jay took a nasty knock to the nose which turned into a blood bath and begrudgingly had to come off.

The second half started a little slow which resulted in St Clears piling on the pressure and they managed to equalise. If it wasn’t for the Cat it could have a been a few more. I was delighted that the team rolled there sleeves up and didn’t buckle. We started to create a few chances for ourselves, hitting the post and several good saves from their keeper also.

The match finished 1-1 which was a fair reflection of the games however if we had continued to play as we did in the first half the win would have been comfortable.

The development George has made coming out to challenge for the ball, becoming not only keeper but 5th defender is nothing but a pleasure to watch. Well done George!
