Kilgetty AFC 2 – 6 Tenby AFC
Match report by Will Grey
Our biggest game of the season for the U13’s playing against Tenby United. Discussions have been tense during school hours this week and tempers flared as the build up to the big game gradually got closer and closer.
Saturday morning, the pitch is soaking and it was going to be a MUD BATH!! We started a little slowly with Tenby putting pressure on us straight away. We grew into the game well and Jay managed to notch one in the first half which ended 3-1.
We started brilliantly in the second half having with another goal from Jay the game was in the balance at 4-2 however they had quite a few players on the bench which they brought on to freshen their side up and managed to score a few more resulting in a 6-2 loss for Kilgetty.
Several good performances this week. Griff back in a centre back role was solid again. Fin was steady stringing a few nice passes together and Zac put yet another great shift in.
All in all a much improved performance again! Roll on next week 👊💪🏻🤙👍
Defensive player of the Week
Ollie Cook (The Cat 2.0)
Shot stopping at its finest today and some excellent distribution.
Attacking Player of the Week
Jay Lort-Phillips
Held the ball up superbly today and battled really hard against a huge back line for Tenby and scored a brace to boot!
Supporters report
Following several instances of unruly behaviour from parents in recent weeks we have had to create a containment area to control the crowds. CCTV has now been installed. As a result of this, behaviour was much improved and the fact team Shulz weren’t in attendance due to a touch line ban reduced the tensions further!
All in all a quiet affair this week however Andy’s NEW white trainers will need some attention. Any recommendations for dry cleaners welcomed.
Great effort by all this week. See you all Wednesday 6-7 on the Astro at Greenhill. I have heard on the grapevine we are in store for a new 4G pitch soon which will be fantastic for everyone!
